I only listen to people who have good arguments, are right, and cite their sources.
I'm a history major, pursuing a teaching degree, and already have a religion and philosophy degree. I do not presume to know God's Word better than I really do! Some people think it's fallible, and chock full of error, but I disagree. I believe it's God's direct Word to the Jewish nation first, and than everyone else. I am presently a pre-millinialist, though if you can effectively argue for the view that the church might go through tribulation I might partly agree with you, as long as you acknowledge pockets of mercy for those faithful few.
I believe the death penalty should be enacted for all premeditated murders, abortion should be abolished, and gun control should not be an issue, it's like de-clawing a wild cat, you are unfairly leaving people vulnerable to evil and crime. I agree the Patriot Act is not an encroachment of our civil liberties, but an issue of privacy, that is completely constitutional, since privacy was only a synthesis and not directly stated in the constitution. I believe B.C. and A.D. have gotten a bad rap, and argue that the central human event depicted can never be ignored, even with the use of common era, because humans forgot their origins in the Garden of Edan, therefore evolutionists cannot tell you for sure what year was the first.
I support George Bush, because he's a Christian, and a bold man. He is the depiction of a leader, not a poll reading follower. The terrorist attacks were not his fault, but he for the last six years has kept us safe. I did vote for him, though I lived in a blue state. I consider myself an active-pacifist, I don't like to fight, never have, but will aggressively assert what I believe and the right way and the wrong ways to live.
Previously I have read several good books, one was a Chinese folk novel called Monkey, about the travels of Buddhism along the Silk Road to China. Another book was the Great Influenza, about the pandemic in Wilson's Presidency 1917. It showed the ineptitude of the medical education offered in those days, because of the lack of research and teaching in the field, but Welch and Co. blazed a trail that developed modern immunizations and saved many people, and probably helped win the war.
I live with my parents though I go to school, I am 27, and sad to say not inclined to leave any time soon...lol. Though teaching has always been an interest of mine, and I love studying History and Religion, especially about the Jewish nation in it's historical context, and the Hebrew Scriptures, written in English. Right now I'm like a refrigerator of information because I just had a history test, and it was on the Realm of Islam, the Mongols and the similarities and differences between the maritime trade and land-based.
I love discussing intelligent educated arguments with people, who have an honest desire for the truth, but have no interest in loud mouth, braggarts, who like to air their own opinions, without listening to that of others, even from those who aren't as educated as themselves. I love honesty, no matter what style of life you live, I love the truth and hate with a passion the darkness, because it doesn't facilitate study, and those who live in the darkness show their ineptitude in this arena.
I have many more things to say but comment on this and I will be glad to discuss it with you, bring up good positive positions on topics, and issues concerning the world, facts and figures, scriptures, or just plain thoughts, and I will probably respond.
